USA: Dog swallowed $4,000 worth of bills

A dog from Pennsylvania, USA, left its owners and vet “gape-gapped” when they discovered it had eaten $4,000 in cash.

Seven-year-old Cecil, who is a goldendoodle, according to his owners, Clayton and Carrie Law, does not throw tantrums.

Of course, a month ago he gobbled up $4,000 in cash as it was displayed on the home's kitchen counter.

That dog, I swear to God, has never touched anything in his lifeCarrie said.

“Suddenly Clayton called out to me: “Cecil eats $4,000.” I thought, “I don't hear that.” I almost had a heart attack“, he added.

According to the Washington Post, the couple had withdrawn the money from their joint account and within 30 minutes of retrieving it, the dog had already eaten it, leaving only a few torn pieces behind.

The couple first contacted the vet to see if the dog needed any medical treatment.

Fortunately for him, due to his size, the dog only needed to be watched at home.

In fact, Carrie said she called the bank, where the manager said that similar incidents had happened in the past and that they would accept and exchange sticky notes with visible serial numbers.

Immediately, the couple began collecting the bills that the dog had already eaten.

The dog threw away the banknotes and so the couple took it upon themselves to… wash them.

“And so we ended up in the sink,” Carrie told City Paper.

“We were washing this money and shouting with joy “Yes. Yes. We got one.” They smelled so bad,” he added.

The couple only lost $450 from the whole ordeal and plan to create a “piece of art” with the remaining bits of money they couldn't quite put together.
