The US military said on Thursday that they attacked the port of Ras Isa fuel in western Yemen, to cut a fuel source for Hethis combatants.
“Today, US forces have taken steps to eliminate this source of fuel to Iran’s terrorist Hethis,” the US Central Command said in an X publication, adding that its goal was to reach Hethis economically and not harm the people of Yemen.
Houthis -controlled media said the attack killed at least 33 people and left 80 injured.
Al Masirah TV, also affiliated with the group, shared images of what seems to be the result of the attack.
Reuters could not check the place or date. However, the US Central Command issued a statement alleging the destruction of the RAS Isa Supply Port.
The US started large -scale attacks last month against Iran -aligned Houthis, saying they would not stop unless they ceased their attacks on the Red Sea navigation.
