US Figure Skating Association starts accepting cryptocurrency donations

Starting February 8, the American Figure Skating Association (USFSA) is accepting donations of digital currencies through the Engiven platform.

The new feature is already available on the association’s website. The Engiven service supports Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin, as well as USDC and PAX Gold stablecoins. Donations, according to the USFSA website, will be used to create new programs for athletes throughout the country.

Engiven automatically exchanges donated cryptocurrencies for dollars, immediately transferring funds to the organization’s bank account.

“USFSA is the first sports federation in the United States to officially accept donations in digital currencies,” the site’s announcement underlines.

According to the executive director of the organization Ramsey Baker (Ramsey Baker), the association is constantly looking for new and innovative ways to fund its initiatives and athletes. Today, cryptocurrencies are one of such methods.

Last October, Dapper Labs Head of Communications Kathy Tedman shared her opinion that more and more sports organizations are interested in non-fungible tokens.
