US denies Houthi missile attack on US cargo ship in Gulf of Aden

Denied by their Navy USA the insurgents claim Houthi her Yemeni about a missile attack on the American cargo ship Ocean Jazz in the Gulf of Aden.

“Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists report alleged success attack on the ship Ocean Jazz is absolutely false. NAVCENT maintained communication with the Ocean Jazz throughout its safe passage,” the US Naval Forces Central Command, or NAVCENT, underlines.

An official of the US Department of Defense, who was contacted earlier by the French News Agency (AFP), described the information as “false”. A Pentagon official spoke of “propaganda” by the Houthis on the American network Fox News.

The representative of the Houthis, Mr Yahya Shariaunderlined to Al Masirah television network that “Retaliations to US-British attacks are inevitable and that any new attack will not go unpunished.”

The Iran-backed rebels reiterated that they would not allow “ships linked to Israel” to pass through the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea “until a ceasefire is reached in the Gaza Strip and its siege lifted” by the Israeli military.

The US and Britain, as reported by APE-MPE, launched missile attacks against Houthi military installations in Yemen in the past few days, seeking to limit the threat posed by the Iran-backed rebels to international shipping.
