US concerned over reports Iran plans to deliver missiles to Russia

US State Department spokesman Vedant Patel said on Monday (12) that the United States is “deeply concerned” by reports that Iran is planning to deliver hundreds of ballistic missiles to Russia.

Patel further stated that such a move would represent a dramatic escalation of military tension.

Reuters reported on Friday (9) that dozens of Russian military personnel are being trained in Iran to use the Fath-360 short-range ballistic missile system, according to two European intelligence sources.

Furthermore, hundreds of satellite-guided weapons are expected to be delivered to Russia soon for the war against Ukraine.

Moscow has a number of ballistic missiles of its own, but the supply of Fath-360s would allow Russia to use more of its arsenal for targets beyond the front line.
