The United States has carried out another round of strikes against the Houthis in Yemen, according to two U.S. officials, marking the fourth time Americans have struck the Iran-backed rebel group in less than a week.
The US attack is the latest in a series of actions against the Houthis. It comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East and fears that the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza could spread further into the region.
United States reclassifies Houthis as terrorist entity
The United States government redesignated the Houthis on Wednesday (17) as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist entity (SDGT) following continued attacks by the Yemeni armed group.
Members of the federal administration stressed that the SDGT designation aims to dissuade the Houthis from further attacks in the Red Sea.
