The president of France, Emmanuel Macron announced a renewal plan, during a visit to the Louvre Museum in Paris, this Tuesday (28). With the measure, the famous painting of Mona Lisa the work of Leonardo da Vinci, will be transferred to another room and will be “accessible independently”.

The changes succeeded after the director of the Louvre, Laurence des CARS reveal, in a statement to the Ministry of Culture, the “obsolescence” of the museum structure and denounce “worrying temperature variations that endanger the conservation of the works”, as reported by The Parisien this month.

At a conference held at the museum and shared in his X -account, former Twitter, Macron promised a project “Realistic and Endowed with the necessary financing” and also remembered the essential role that Louvre plays in the history of France.

In his speech, the president also stated that all the cost of the works of this new access will be funded with the museum’s own resources. With the transfer, visitors will have to purchase a separate ticket and access to the visitation of Mona Lisa will be independent of the rest of the museum.

“The creation of this new room will make it possible to install Mona Lisa in a special space, autonomously accessible to the rest of the museum and ended, for a separate ticket, but also of conditions that allow a different and perhaps, more, more visitation.
