The model Bruno Fernandes Krupp, 25, was preventively arrested last Wednesday (3) for causing the accident that caused the death of a 16-year-old teenager, in Rio de Janeiro last Saturday (30).
João Gabriel Cardin Guimarães was rescued alive by the Fire Department, who amputated the victim’s left thigh while still at the scene. He was taken to the Lourenço Jorge municipal hospital, in Barra da Tijuca, but could not resist and died on Sunday (31).
Krupp had bruises and was also taken to the health complex.
According to information from Military police, the accident happened on Avenida Lúcio Costa, in Barra, around 10:50 pm.
The teenager was crossing the road when he was hit by the motorcycle driven by Bruno.
According to the Secretary of State for Civil Police, initially the case was registered at the Barra da Tijuca police station as a bodily injury in the direction of a motor vehicle, but with the death of the victim, the case is now being investigated as manslaughter.
Model was not allowed to drive and was caught in a traffic stop
This Wednesday (3), the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro (TJ-RJ) decreed preventive detention on the grounds that the influencer assumed the risk of causing the accident when driving without a driver’s license and at high speed.
The Civil Police had already informed that Bruno Krupp did not have a license to drive the vehicle.
The Justice also adds that the same would have been caught by a traffic stop three days before the event.
“In fact, in view of all the compilation, it is observed that the accused took the risk of causing the result, behold, he was driving a motorcycle without a license plate, at high speed (more than 150 km/h, on a road whose maximum speed limit is speed of 60km/h), without having a driver’s license, even after to have been caught in a blitz three days before the accident “, says part of the decision.
When he was stopped at the blitz, according to the court, Krupp was riding the same bike — no license plate — and refused to take a breathalyzer test.
Also according to the Justice, a witness helped the victim and confirmed that the motorcycle was speeding.
The teenager’s mother witnessed the hit-and-run and does not have “psychological conditions” to give a statement, which will be done when possible.
The defense of the model stated to the CNN who will file a request for habeas corpus against the model’s preventive detention this Thursday (4).
FBX advisory, which manages the influencer, said it would not comment on the case.
