UN: 2/3 of the buildings in Gaza have been destroyed

The UN said today that nearly two-thirds of buildings in the Gaza Strip have been damaged or destroyed since the war between Israel and Hamas began, according to satellite images. “The latest damage assessment (…) reveals that 151,265 buildings were affected in the Gaza Strip,” the United Nations satellite center, UNOSAT, announced in a press release. This estimate is based on photos collected on July 6 and compared to other photos taken since May 2023.
