Ukrainian soldiers — who were trained with weapons from the Soviet Union era — are experiencing a moment of transition and are now preparing to use new equipment and vehicles sent by western countries in the war against Russia. CNN followed the new training. Check it out in the video below.
It’s part of the new weapon set for grenade launchers and 50 caliber machine guns, for example.
“The exercise is for troops coming from the front line in Bakhmut to meet new recruits to show them how everything works. [armamento novo] it works”.
Commander Kalsa Martsin sums up the importance of the issue this way: “The Russians have an immense amount of old Soviet weapons. They end up throwing a lot of metal at us. We can’t beat them that way. We need quality and precision.”
“We need a lot of weapons and vehicles,” says 57th Brigade sniper Denys.
Training with the most technological and powerful weapons takes place on Ukrainian territory while Kiev continues to seek more support and donations of resources and weapons.
