Ukraine war: Zelensky pushes for international court to punish Russia

The message that justice will be served when its leadership of Russia to state and army to account for the war in Ukraine, sent o Volodymyr Zelensky at an international conference conference on the subject held on Friday in the city of Lviv.

“And when they are held accountable, justice will be served”the president of Ukraine said in his video message.

Zelensky stressed “the responsibility of Russia and its leadership – personal responsibility – for aggression and terror against our country and our people.”

THE Ukraine has been trying for months to set up an international court where Moscow’s leaders will be held accountable for war crimes. The Lviv meeting was attended by high-ranking representatives from Europe and the USA. Security was tight and few details were released.

“We are gathering maximum support for a court on Russian aggression against Ukraine”Zelensky said. “We are doing everything we can to ensure that the International Criminal Court succeeds in punishing Russian war criminals and that our national law enforcement and judicial authorities secure fair sentences for all Russian murderers and torturers.”
