Ukraine: Thousands take to the streets of Kharkiv against Russian aggression

Thousands take to the streets of Ukraine’s second-largest city, just across the border from Russia, chanting “Kharkiv is Ukraine” and “Stop the Russian aggression” as the crisis continues. Concentration of powerful military forces on the Russian-Ukrainian border, which raises concerns about an impending Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Kharkiv, an industrial city in eastern Ukraine 42 kilometers from the Russian border, was cited by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a possible target of a Russian attack, although his spokesman later said he was speaking hypothetically.

Protesters in Kharkiv sang the national anthem, waving Ukrainian or Allied flags in support of Kiev, such as the United States, Britain and the European Union.
