A criminal case was sent to the Soviet District Court of Ufa against the former operative police in transport. He is accused of stealing bitcoins for 20 million rubles for citizens detained by him in 2022.

According to the press service of the Volga Transport Prosecutor’s Office, in 2022 the employee of the Ufa LU Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia detained two people in transport. He took their mobile phones from them and, taking advantage of the installed crypto applications, transferred his bitcoins in the amount of over 20 million rubles.

Also, the former detective is accused of applying force to the detainees, so that they give confessions and talk about accomplices. He is accused under paragraph “B” of Part 4 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code (theft), part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud) and paragraph “a”, “c” of part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code (abuse of authority).
