The Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will expand its presence in the virtual space. Following the directive on the digitalization of workplaces, the agency opens an office in the metaverse.
The virtual office will be a multi-storey building in which each level of the building will serve its purpose. Specialists of the department for working with clients of the Ministry of Economy will be able to interact with citizens in a virtual office as soon as they register in the metaverse.
Headquarters will include an auditorium for virtual conferences and other events, as well as a meeting room. The new office will complement the ministry’s two headquarters located in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
This will allow the Ministry of Economy to increase the share of digital services in its activities in accordance with the directives of the UAE leadership on the digitalization of administrative activities. Economy Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri said that “this is not a proof of concept, but the third stage of testing.”
Recall that in May, the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), against the backdrop of the popularity of the presence of large corporations in the metaverse, was the first agency in the United Arab Emirates to open a representative office in the virtual world of The Sandbox.
In March, the UAE authorities said they were increasing their presence in the cryptocurrency market and would discuss the role of digital assets in the country’s future, as well as the prospect of paying salaries in crypto. In July, the Emirate of Dubai presented a strategy for the development of its own metaverse.
