Two more Greek citizens from Afghanistan were released

Two other Greek citizens have been released from Afghanistan and are in Britain and Qatar, according to diplomatic sources. They will return to Greece over the weekend.

A Greek citizen working in Afghanistan is expected to arrive in Athens from London on Saturday night, at 23.00, according to diplomatic sources. He was released from Britain, following consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries, following relevant instructions by Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias.

The Greek embassy in London was in constant contact with him and provided him with all possible assistance, the same sources stressed.

Also, another Greek citizen arrived in Qatar, having been released from the USA. It is expected to arrive in Chania on Sunday around 18.00 via Athens. The Greek embassy in Doha provides him with consular assistance.
