Two people died and 40 others were injured in a car crash on a Texas highway Friday. Around 14:00 (local time, 21:00 Greek time) a concrete mixer truck veered off course and collided head-on with a school bus on a highway in Bastrop County, northeast of Austin. A toddler on board the school bus was killed instantly, while the driver of the car following the bus and hitting it because he failed to brake was also killed. The school bus was carrying 44 toddlers and 11 adults who were returning from a trip to a zoo. The other two vehicles were occupied only by their drivers, police said. Four injured, whose condition was described as critical, were taken by helicopter to a hospital. Another six seriously injured were taken by ambulances, while the remaining injured were given first aid on the spot and some were taken to hospitals for further medical care.
