The information that the Armed Forces plan to carry out a parallel check of the vote totals in this year’s presidential elections provoked an immediate response from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) to affirm that any interested party can carry out the verification of the ballot papers and deny that it has granted military privileged access to data.
The following day, the Electoral Justice announced another proposal from the Armed Forces and decided to approve a pilot project that foresees the use of biometrics in up to 10% of electronic voting machines that will undergo an integrity test on election day.
