Trump will talk to China in the next few hours, threatening to raise duties

The US president threatened tonight to increase tariffs on Chinese products over 10% imposed on Saturday, announcing that he would “talk to China” probably within the next 24 hours. He described the tariffs on Chinese products as the “launch of the unobtrusive” in his quest to bring more balance to the two countries’ trade relations. Tuesday is expected to add 10% duties to existing Chinese imported products. “Canada does not behave properly” for Canada, Trump reiterated that this country “does not behave properly” in the US and stressed: “We do not need Canadian cars, timber, agricultural products.” Trump also said he had a “good conversation” today with Mexican Chairman Seinbaum for duties, that he was determined to stop the trafficking of Fentanyl in the US and planning a “great negotiation” with Mexico.
