Former US President Donald Trump’s team began attacking Tim Walz moments after the CNN reported that Vice President Kamala Harris had chosen the Minnesota governor as her running mate.
Campaign sources told CNN that Walz’s selection will help Trump emphasize that Kamala is a radical liberal politician.
“Never stray from our progressive values. One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborhood,” Walz said recently at a fundraiser for Kamala’s campaign.
Trump’s team has already begun crafting a narrative around Kamala’s decision. A source close to the Republican campaign told CNN that the vice president “bent the knee to the anti-Semitic, anti-Israel left and chose someone as dangerously liberal as herself.”
On social media, the Trump campaign immediately began promoting some of the research it was gathering on Walz as Ms. Clinton prepared to make a decision, calling him an “incompetent liberal.”
