United States President Donald Trump spoke on Monday (27) about comments on the weekend that he would like to “clean” Gaza.
The US president commented on the more than 1 million Palestinians living in the enclave: “I would like to make them live in an area where they can live without disturbance, revolutions and violence.”
Over the weekend, Trump generated headlines when he told reporters that he had talked to the king of Jordan about the possibility of building housing and transferring Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries, a remarkable proposal from a acting US president.
Approximately 90% of Gaza residents were displaced, and many were forced to move repeatedly, a few more than 10 times, according to the United Nations.
“You know, when you look at the Gaza Strip, it’s been a hell for so many years, and it seems to be that-a lot of civilizations started here, they started thousands of years earlier,” Trump said on Monday.
“There has always been associated violence. So, I think you can make people live in much safer areas, perhaps much better and perhaps much more comfortable ”

He also said he spoke to the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, but refused to say directly whether the president had an opinion about receiving more Palestinian refugees.
“I would love to do that – I would like him to receive some, we helped them a lot, and I’m sure he can help us, he’s a friend of mine,” Trump said.
“He is in a very difficult part of the world, to be honest, as they say, it is a difficult neighborhood, but I think he can do that,” he added.
Trump also said he planned to speak “in the not too distant future” with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which he said “will come here to meet me.”
Pressured about when Netanyahu will visit Washington, Trump said, “Very soon.”
