President Donald Trump said he has spoken with Chinese President Xi Jinping again since he took office on January 20.
“Yes, I talked to him,” Trump answered to Fox News journalist Bret when asked if he had spoken with the Chinese leader since his inauguration, during a recorded interview on Monday (10).
“I, by chance, like him very much, President XI,” said Trump. “I talked to him, and I also talk to his people, his people come all the time, we have a very good personal relationship.”
He also said he knows North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, “better than anyone.”
Trump told reporters that he was not in a hurry to talk to President XI the same day the administration implemented 10% tariffs on Chinese imports.
Last week, Beijing announced a wide package of economic measures aimed at the US, later reviewing that US President Donald Trump imposed 10% tariffs on Chinese imports, as reported earlier by CNN .
