Trump questions Putin and threatens to impose sanctions after meeting with Zelensky

United States President Donald Trump wondered whether Russia President Vladimir Putin wants a peace agreement on Saturday (26). This happens after the US leader meets with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, minutes before Pope Francis’ funeral began.

The conversation marked the first face-to-face date between Trump and Zelensky since the White House chat in February.

In a publication on the Social Truth after the meeting, the US President raised the possibility of applying new sanctions to Russia after the attack against the capital of Ukraine last week, wondering if Putin would be interested in peace.

“There was no reason for Putin to shoot missiles against civil areas, cities and villages in recent days,” he wrote.

“It makes me think that maybe he doesn’t want to stop war, just encouraging me and needs to be treated differently through ‘bank sanctions’ or ‘secondary sanctions’? Many people are dying !!!”, he said.
