Trump, Macron and Zelensky meet before Notre-Dame reopening

The President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, met this Saturday afternoon with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, before the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame Cathedral.

The meeting was held at the Élysée Palace, headquarters of the French government, in Paris.

The meeting was publicized by Macron on his Instagram account. The images show the French leader welcoming Trump and Zelenski’s arrival at the venue.

“Welcome back,” wrote the president of France.

Macron also released an image with the three leaders talking.

“USA, Ukraine and France. Together on this historic day. Gather for Notre-Dame. Let’s continue joint action for peace and security,” he wrote.

France has already declared support for the Ukrainian government in the war against Russia.

The French government is concerned about the United States’ support for the Ukrainians and NATO, in the confrontation against the Russians, as the scenario seems uncertain since Trump was elected.

The bilateral meetings take place before the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame Cathedral, which caught fire five years ago and is reopened to the public this Saturday. The event features the participation of world leaders.

When will Donald Trump be inaugurated as President of the United States?
