Trump increases pressure – additional fees on Chinese ships that will be docked in American ports

Shipowners and shipowners who have Chinese -made ships will face new financial burdens during their docation in ports in the United States, according to a statement from the US Representative’s Office (USTR) on Thursday. The measure will be implemented over a period of 180 days, with relative fees gradually increasing. The measure also concerns owners and Chinese ship owners not built in China, the USTR services said in the announcement they published. These fees will be charged to a visit to the US – not in every American port where they are tied – up to five times per ship a year.
