Trump finds it difficult to end the war in Ukraine and threatens: “If you don’t want a solution, we leave”

Donald Trump threatened that the US would abandon mediation for further Russia-Ukraine talks, if Moscow or Kiev “make it difficult” to reach a peace agreement. The US president told reporters at the Oval Office on Friday that he is not expecting a truce in a “specific number of days”, but wants to be “fast”. His comments came a few hours after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned that the US would abandon talks if there are no clear evidence of progress within days. “We are not going to continue this effort for weeks and months,” Rubio said, adding that the US has “other priorities they need to focus on.” Evolution comes as Russian blows continue in Ukraine, with two people reported dead and more than 100 injured in the northeast cities of Harkov and Sumi on Friday.
