Trump celebrates a return of American citizens in Venezuela

President Donald Trump celebrated on Saturday (1) the return of six US citizens who were detained in Venezuela to the United States. On the social network Truth Social, Trump said the “hostages returned home in great condition.

Richard Grenell, sent from US President Donald Trump, said on Friday that he was returning to the United States with six US citizens, after meeting with Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maturein Caracas.

Trump government officials had said earlier than one of Grenell’s main tasks on the visit was the release of Americans detained in the country.
The Maduro government said the meeting earned a respectful discussion about migration, sanctions and American detainees in the country.

The meeting in the presidential palace of the Venezuelan capital took place amid an effort to deport and combat gangs by the Trump government.

Both countries have a recent troubled history, marked by broken relationships, sanctions and coup accusations.
