The Regional Labor Court of the 2nd Region condemned the intimidation suffered by judge Alessandra de Cássia Fonseca Tourinho, who during a hearing in the labor court, was arrested by lawyer Rafael Dellova.
In a statement, the body positioned itself against any type of threat or intimidation against magistrates and stated that it awaits the investigation of the case by the competent entities.
Previously, the The Brazilian Magistrates Association (AMB) and the Brazilian Bar Association also spoke out about the incident in a statement sent The CNN . The Association of Labor Court Judges of the 2nd Region (AMATRA-2) cited the presence of “machismo” in the lawyer’s actions.

The Regional Labor Court of the 2nd Region reaffirms its vocation for social pacification. Its work, in continuous harmony with members of the legal profession, takes place in various procedures and in thousands of daily hearings in its units, which are carried out with civility, order and professionalism, always in favor of those under its jurisdiction.
Therefore, the institution condemns any type of intimidation, threat or aggression against judges or civil servants in any situation, and awaits the investigation of the incident and the appropriate measures by the appropriate bodies, including the National Justice Inspectorate, the Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association and the entity’s branch in São Paulo.
Remember the case
Judge Alessandra de Cássia Fonseca Tourinho was conducting a hearing at the 4th Labor Court of Diadema/SP, when attorney Rafael Dellova interrupted his client’s testimony, preventing her from answering questions from the opposing party. The judge warned the plaintiff, Rafael Dellova’s client, to continue her testimony.
The lawyer insisted that he would interrupt the hearing again if the same instructions were followed. At that point, the judge ordered the hearing to end, postponing the statements. After the judge’s decision, Rafael Dellova arrested the judge for alleged abuse of authority.
