The Brazilian government intends to offer free transportation and a security scheme expanded during the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which will be held in Belém (PA), in November 2025.
The information appears in a document released by the Extraordinary Secretariat of COP30 (Secop), a body linked to the Civil House of the Presidency of the Republic.
According to the material, the proposal is to ensure free transport between hotels and the conference site, in Parque da Cidade, as well as between the Port of Outeiro and the same destination. The measure aims to facilitate the displacement of participants, especially during the days of greater movement.
The logistics plan also includes actions aimed at the security of delegations. According to Secop, Brazil wants to apply the accumulated experience during the presidency of the G20 to organize the reception of heads of state, ministers and other authorities.
They are involved in planning agencies such as the Ministry of Justice, Federal Police, Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin), Institutional Security Office (GSI), Ministry of Defense and state and municipal forces.
Another expected point is emergency health care. Secop states that the Unified Health System (SUS) should be available at no cost to all officially accredited delegates who need assistance during the event.
COP30 should gather between 30,000 and 50,000 people in Belém, according to estimates presented in the same document. The leadership summit, attended by heads of state and government, is expected to take place on November 6 and 7, before the official opening of the conference.
