Tragedy on the Congo River: Over 140 dead from fire on ship – dozens miss

At least 143 people were killed and dozens others are missing after the fire that occurred on a sailing on the Congo River, in the northwestern part of the LD Congo, officials said Friday. “A first group of 131 corpses were recovered on Wednesday, 12 were recovered on Thursday and Friday,” Josephine-Pasifik Lokoumou, a member of the National Parliament on the spot, told the French Agency.
