Tragedy in Canada: At least 15 dead in collision between truck and van carrying disabled people

Fifteen people died and another ten were injured yesterday Thursday (15/6) when they collided truck with trailer and minibus in the central Canadathe police announced

“Ten people were taken to hospital with injuries of varying degrees of severity”, explained Rob Hill, a police officer in the province of Manitoba, where the accident happened. In total, there were 25 people on board the minibus, “mostly elderly”, he added.

The crash, described as “very serious,” occurred north of the town of Carbury at the intersection of the Inter-Canada Highway and Highway 5.

An eyewitness, John Proven, told a local television station that he saw a vehicle run off the road and on fire. He also saw a pickup truck, the front of which looked burnt. At least 20 police cars and eight ambulances rushed to the scene. “I have never seen such an accident before. It was shocking,” said Proven.
