Traffic problems from heavy snowfall in Finland

Snowfall and frost caused traffic problems in Finland's capital Helsinki today Meteorologist Matti Huttonen told Finnish television that the frost was unusual for the season, as the mercury usually hovers around 10 degrees Celsius or even higher. Helsinki's public transportation agency (HSL) has announced the suspension of all tram services, as the electric cables have frozen and in some places snow has accumulated preventing the passage of trains. Bus and commuter rail routes are also reduced, while flight delays and cancellations were reported at several airports in the country. In addition to the capital Helsinki, the bad weather also caused problems in other cities in southern Finland, where in the morning buses were diverted and left the road due to a snowstorm, according to Finnish television.
