This past January, Mike, 39, originally from Hong Kong, was visiting Thailand as a tourist when he decided to visit Changthai Thappraya Adventure Park. Among the attractions of the place, is the jump of bungeeso the man decided to live this extreme experience.
However, he did not count on the fact that the safety rope that was holding him would end up breaking, causing him to crash at high speed into the water of a lake that was just below the platform from where he made the jump.
Worst fear of jumping in bungee is that the rope breaks and that was exactly what happened to Mike. Actually, this tourist wanted to have fun at the shooting range, but his friends dared him to jump off the attraction, so he accepted the challenge and climbed on a huge platform that is equivalent in height to a 10-story building. In an interview for CNN, the man recounted his bitter experience:
It was very high, so I closed my eyes. I planned to open them again when I recovered. I realized that the cord had broken when I opened my eyes and I was surrounded by water.
Apparently, Mike passed out for a few seconds when he made contact with the water, since the blow was quite strong. As he could, he surfaced to try swimming until park staff pulled him out of the lake and he was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
If the accident had been more serious, he could have lost his life. The pain was so intense that I felt dizzy. Since my arms were stretched out, my armpit area was the most affected. I landed on my left side, so the injuries were more severe there. It was like someone had hit me.
For his part, the founder of the park, Nitwit Intim, confirmed to CNN what happened and commented that it was the first time he had seen a cable break, but as in any extreme adventure, Mike signed a liability waiver before taking the leap. .
Our staff explained that if an accident occurs, our company will reimburse medical expenses, but the client cannot claim reimbursement for other expenses.
