Total foreign exchange flow in September until the 16th is negative by US$ 1.6 billion, says BC

After ending August with net inflows of US$ 217 million, the country registered a negative foreign exchange flow of US$ 1.621 billion in September, up to the 16th, informed the Central Bank this Wednesday (21).

The financial channel showed net outflows of US$ 1.668 billion in the period.

This is the result of contributions amounting to US$ 23.389 billion and withdrawals totaling US$ 25.057 billion.

The segment includes direct and portfolio foreign investments, profit remittances and interest payments, among other operations.

In foreign trade, the balance for September, up to the 16th, was positive by US$ 47 million, with imports of US$ 10.463 billion and exports of US$ 10.510 billion.

Exports include US$ 1.037 billion in Advance on Exchange Contracts (ACC), US$ 1.801 billion in Advance Payment (PA) and US$ 7.672 billion in other inflows.

Week

According to the BC, the foreign exchange flow registered last week (from September 12 to 16) to Brazil was positive by US$ 638 million.

The financial channel had a net inflow of US$ 951 million in the week, the result of contributions in the amount of US$ 10.778 billion and remittances totaling US$ 9.827 billion.

In foreign trade, the balance last week was negative by US$ 313 million, with imports of US$ 4.886 billion and exports of US$ 4.573 billion.

Exports include US$ 473 million in ACC, US$ 742 million in Advance Payment and US$ 3.358 billion in other inflows.

Year to date

The exchange flow for the year through September 16 was positive at US$ 19.564 billion, the Central Bank reported.

In the same period last year, the result was positive at US$ 21.494 billion.

In the closed year of 2021, there was a net inflow of US$ 6.134 billion.

The net outflow through the financial channel in 2022 through September 16 was US$ 12.172 billion.

The result is the result of investments in the amount of US$ 395.339 billion and withdrawals totaling US$ 407.510 billion.

In foreign trade, the accumulated annual balance was positive at US$ 31.736 billion, with imports of US$ 165.474 billion and exports of US$ 197.209 billion.

Exports include US$ 25.787 billion in Advances on Exchange Contracts, US$ 45.563 billion in PA and US$ 125.859 billion in other inflows.
