A draft of “Top Gun 3” would be written by the co-writer of “Top Gun: Maverick” (2022), Ehren Kruger beginning the development of a new film in the franchise starring Tom Cruise . The information is from the North American magazine “Deadline”.
According to the publication, the project would reunite Cruise with Miles Teller It is Glen Powell who star in the feature film released in 2022. As in the sequel to the 1986 classic, Joe Kosinski would be the director and producer of the title.
The idea is that filming will begin in 2025. Cruise is currently filming “Mission: Impossible 8” .
“Top Gun: Maverick” is the most successful film of Cruise's career, grossing $1.49 billion. The sequel to the 1986 hit hit the big screen during the resumption of cinema after the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic – and was the highest-grossing film of 2022.
The film won the Oscar for Best Sound and was nominated in six categories, including the main award, Best Film.
In the plot, pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell returns to the Navy Aviation School, 36 years after graduating, as an instructor. He must lead the group of the best aviators graduated from the school on an (almost) impossible mission.
