Top commander of Russian Chechen forces fighting in Ukraine, Adam Delimkhanov, wounded

Delimkhanov, a former Chechen separatist who eventually defected to Moscow along with most of the region’s leadership, has taken a prominent role in Russia’s military campaign in Ukrainecommanding Chechen forces in Mariupol in the early days of the conflict.

Ukrainian media had reported earlier today that Delimkhanov was killed in an artillery strike in southern Ukraine.
