Musician Toriano Adaryll “Tito” Jackson, one of Michael Jackson’s brothers who were part of the Jackson 5, has died at the age of 70.
The death was announced by Tito’s children in a post on social media on Sunday night (15).
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson, is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being,” TJ, Taj and Taryll wrote in an Instagram post.
The band, which included brothers Michael (who died at age 50 on June 25, 2009), Tito, Marlon, Jermaine and Jackie, formed in 1964 and had several hits, such as “I’ll Be There”, “ABC” and “I Want You Back”.
Under the guidance of their father, Joe Jackson, the band became one of the biggest pop groups in the world, putting the Jackson 5 into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
