Her first interview since shipwreck of Titan was given by the tragic mother who lost her child and her husband, after an explosion occurred near its wreck Titanic. The search for locating and rescuing the occupants of the Titan lasted several 24 hours, until the wreckage of the submersible was located and the death of the five men was officially announced.
Christine Dawood and her daughter Alina were aboard the mother ship of the Titan submarine when it suddenly lost communication shortly after it began diving into the Titanic wreck. On board the submarine were, among others, Pakistani businessman Shahsada Dawood, Christine’s husband, and The couple’s 19-year-old son, Suleman. The two were excited before boarding, the woman revealed, however, it ended in the most tragic way. For Christine Dawood, however, who initially tried to remain optimistic, any trace of hope vanished when 96 hours had passed since the vessel disappeared, which meant that the oxygen inside the submarine had probably run out.
“That’s when I lost hope and sent a message to my family on land, writing to them that I am preparing for the worst,” the tragic Dawood told the BBC. Instead, her 17-year-old daughter kept hoping until now the wreckage of the vessel was located. “She is an amazing young woman. He deeply believes in science and so it was certain that, just like in airplane travel, the mechanical elements would work,” Christine says of her daughter, explaining that she had to put in a lot of effort to keep the 17-year-old from realizing that her mom had lost all hope. As the wife of the Pakistani tycoon revealed, initially she was to go with her husband in her submarine OceanGatehowever, that trip was canceled because of her pandemic. “Then I backed off and let Suleman join in because he really wanted to,” the German wife said.

After they were informed that the Titan debris, the woman and her daughter returned to Canada last Saturday. Yesterday, Sunday, the funeral ceremony for the two men took place, which Christine says “helped” somewhat. However, as she says with tears in her eyes in her interview, the pain is still great. “I miss them. I really miss them very much.” Of her son, Christine said he had an intelligent and practical mind. “He had made a lego construction of them 10,000 pieces with Titanic. He had officially submitted an application to have his attempt to break the world record for solving the Rubik’s cube underwater. His application was ultimately denied, but he planned to videotape his attempt.”
First and foremost, my deepest condolences to the families of the victims of this tragic event.
I tried to recreate the implosion of the submersible for educational purposes, so people can get a sense of what happened and how violent this event was.#Titanic #OceanGate #Titan pic.twitter.com/ll6QaI5AuE— Marcel Kern (@MarcelKernFX) June 25, 2023
After the immense loss, the two women decided to learn to solve the Rubik’s Cube to honor memory of the child. As for Christine, her intention is to continue the work of her husband, who was involved in many projects “that helped his fellow human beings”.
