The expansion of the coverage of 5G in Brazil should be seen as a priority for the country’s operators, as commented to CNN the CEO of Tim Brasil, Alberto Griseli.
“Brazil is a continental country, so it takes a lot of time and investment to [o 5G] reach everywhere”, pointed out the executive.
Griseli pointed out that even after 10 years of 4G implementation, there are still places where the technology does not have coverage, so the regions end up dependent on 3G for mobile internet.
“One of the challenges we have is to increase 4G coverage to reach everywhere, because we consumers who live in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and in the big capitals forget about 3G. But the performance difference between 3G and 4G is brutal, and 5G is no different”, he declared.
