Director Tim Burton celebrated the end of recording “Beetlejuice 2”, a sequel to the 1988 film that in Brazil was called “The Ghosts Have Fun”, with a post on his Instagram.
“We just finished filming Beetlejuice. Thank you to everyone involved,” said Burton in the caption of a photo in which he appears seated, wearing black and white striped socks, a reference to the classic Beetlejuice ghost look.
Part of the original cast is confirmed for the new film, such as Michael Keaton (Beetlejuice) and Winona Ryder (Lydia Deetz).
Jenna Ortega, known for her successful role as Wandinha, in the Netflix series, is also part of the cast.
The 1988 film follows the story of Barbara (Geena Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin), a couple who die in a car accident and are left with their spirits trapped in their country house.
When the Deetze family moves into the residence, the Maitlands do everything they can to scare them away. Unsuccessfully, they appeal to the character Beettlejuice (Michael Keaton), a rebellious ghost who becomes a danger after being invited.
