TikTok has reportedly surpassed Google as the most popular online destination in the world.
Cloudflare, a computer security company, has revealed rankings that show that the viral video application took the first place from the search engine in February, March and June this year and has consistently occupied the first place since August.
The ranking is based on Cloudflare’s “Cloudflare Radar”, web traffic monitoring.
TikTok, owned by Chinese company Bytedance, currently has more than one billion active users worldwide. The application’s popularity has been attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine measures, as the application was installed over three billion times in 2021 alone.
