TikTok launches new music tool on the platform; get to know

O TikTok announced, this Thursday (7), that a new musical tool is available on the platform. The feature, called “Add to Music App”, allows users to save the tracks they “discover” in the app to music streaming services: Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify and TikTok Music .

The idea of ​​TikTok is to help users save – and not “lose” a song – instantly when they listen to it on the app and thus listen to new tracks they liked whenever they want and with greater ease.

When clicking on the song, in the bar below the video, the tool appears, with a button that says “Add music”. Users are then prompted to save the song to the streaming service of their choice.

The track is then saved to a standard playlist on the chosen service, such as “Músicas Curtidas”, on Spotify.

After the first use of the tool, the selected music app will become the default streaming service. It can be changed at any time through the settings. The feature can be used both through the application's feed and through the artist's official page.

“With Add to Music App, we are simplifying the music discovery experience for TikTok users and artists,” says Isaac Bess, Global Head of Distribution Partnerships at TikTok in a press release.

“Music fans are seizing the opportunity to save songs from TikTok directly to their favorite music streaming services, boosting music discovery and helping more tracks break through and become hits,” he stated.

The new tool is now available to all global TikTok users.
