A ByteDancethe Chinese company that controls TikTok, confirmed to CNN this Tuesday (5) that renowned profiles on the platform, such as that of the American socialite paris hilton were victims of cyberattacks this week.
In a statement, TikTok said that its security team is aware of the problem and is already taking action to stop the attack, in addition to preventing it from happening again.
“Our security team is aware of an attempted attack targeting reputable accounts on the platform. We have taken steps to stop this attack and prevent it from happening in the future. We are working directly with the owners of the affected accounts to restore access, if necessary”, says the text.
The platform did not say, however, which profiles were affected by the hacking action and also did not disclose other details.
The information that Paris Hilton would be one of the victims was shared by Reuters this Tuesday.
A CNN questioned the Chinese company about the possibility of cyber attacks also occurring on the profiles of famous Brazilians, but, until the publication of this text, it had not received any response.
