Tietê marginal lane is released to traffic after accident in subway work

The central lane of the Tietê waterfront, in São Paulo, was released on Thursday afternoon (3), according to information from the city hall. The road was closed for more than 48 hours after the accident at a work on subway line 6-Orange, which opened a crater in the track. There were no reports of injuries.

The road was cleared after the completion of the concreting service for the crater that opened on Marginal Tietê, and the authorization for opening traffic on the site was carried out by the Metropolitan Transport Department, Sabesp and the State Civil Defense.

“The analysis carried out by the state teams showed that the concreting work of the opening caused by the incident next to the Ventilation Well of Line-6 ​​Orange Metro and the rupture of the sewage pipe next to the works was successful. As a result, it will not be necessary to install piles to contain the local runway on the Marginal Tietê, as planned”, informed the São Paulo City Hall.

There is still no forecast for the release of the local track. CET agents will continue to operate the traffic in the region, after the lane is cleared, to preserve the place, protect the population, and prevent the curiosity of drivers from causing more slowdown in the flow of vehicles.

On Wednesday night (2), the concreting service for the opening of the Marginal Tietê local runway was completed. The opening was filled with 4,000 m³ of concrete, the equivalent of 650 concrete mixer trucks. 12,000 m³ of stones were also poured into the VSE Aquinos well, which corresponds to 1,200 dump trucks.

Before opening the road, this Thursday, the State Secretariat for Metropolitan Transport and Sabesp monitored the progress of the work carried out by the Technological Research Institute (IPT) to investigate the facts and possible causes of the accident in the Ventilation Well of Line-6. Orange of the subway and the rupture of the sewer pipe next to the works.

The mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, said that a traffic detour will be made through a private land in the region of the accident. For this, an Administrative Requisition will be required, whose authorization was published in the Wednesday edition (2) of the Official Gazette of the Municipality.

“I should publish the Administrative Requisition Decree today and we should start opening this route tomorrow, which will be fundamental, mainly to help the circulation of buses that traveled through the local lane and the people of the Bento Bicuto community, which can be served for this diversion”, said the mayor.
