The actor and presenter Tiago Abravanel 37, recalled his grandfather, Silvio Santos (1930-2024) in an interview with CNN . This Thursday (12), the presenter and businessman would have turned 94 years old.
When asked about Silvio’s representation in his life, he said: “I think he represents not only for me, but I think for all Brazilians the joy on television “.
“He did a lot, but I think thinking about his joy and his laughter on television, I think it will stay in everyone’s memory and in my memory for sure forever,” he added.
The presenter, considered one of the greatest communicators on Brazilian TV, passed away at the age of 93 on August 17 of this year, due to bronchopneumonia following an Influenza (H1N1) infection.
In a statement made in an interview with Conversa com Bial last month, Tiago became emotional when remembering his grandfather’s death.
“I was in Rio [de Janeiro]we were doing the show [Hairspray]. He [Silvio Santos] He had already left the hospital, we thought everything was fine and then he came back. But we thought everything was fine, everything was under control. Of course, for a 93-year-old man, it’s not simple and easy, so when I received the news, I didn’t imagine it could happen so quickly”, he began.
Afterwards, the artist recalled what he did when he discovered his grandfather’s death. “The first thing was to go back to give a hug and be close to my mother. It was what I needed to do. I saw that she was stronger than I imagined, like the woman she always was, strong and wonderful”, he said.
