THE murder of three elderly brothers in Spainmay be associated with a online fraud that prompted them to overcharge, according to the testimonies of their neighbors, which are cited by the local media.
The two sisters and their disabled brother, aged 70-80, were found on Thursday dead inside their house in the community of Morata de Tahunia, as announced by the police. Police entered the house after neighbors became alarmed and informed the authorities as they had not seen anyone for several days.
The three victims they had been brutally murdered and their bodies were partially charred. Authorities speculate that the triple murder is connected to “settling accounts”, due to the large debts the brothers had accumulated.

The two sisters allegedly entered into a long-distance relationship with two people who introduced themselves to them as US military personnel. One of them then said that the other had died and he needed money to start proceedings for his “fiancée” to receive a multi-million euro inheritance.
The two sistersas reported by APE-MPE, they started asking for money from the villagers and got into debt. “They weren't asking for 20 or 100 euros but 5,000 or 6,000” each time, said a neighbor. They “started sending the money” to the alleged fiance of one because he would give them a €7m inheritance. We told them it was a scam but they didn't believe itthey were saying that their relationship was not fake,” one of the residents of the community told the TV.
