In November 2022, the death of singer and actor Aaron Carter, 34, was reported, who was found by his assistant, drowned in the bathtub of his home located in Lancaster, California, United States.
Five months after the events and after a long investigation, the authorities determined that the singer’s cause of death was accidental. However, the ruling has been challenged by Melanie Martin, Aaron’s ex-fiancee.
According to information collected by People and TMZ, Aaron swallowed prescription pills, which he mixed with other substances that caused him to lose consciousness.
Aaron Carter took prescription pills. He drowned in the bathtub of his Lancaster home, but he took alprazolam (generic Xanax) and inhaled compressed difluoroethane… which is the propellant used in compressed air canisters.
The singer became incapacitated while in the bathtub due to the effects of the drugs and eventually slipped underwater and drowned. Aaron’s death is officially ruled accidental.
The autopsy report revealed that several compressed air canisters were found in a bathroom and a bedroom, as well as bottles of prescription drugs.
On the other hand, Melanie Martin, ex-fiancee and mother of Aaron’s son, said she was dissatisfied with the final ruling, as she assures that there are several inconsistencies.
The autopsy results are not closure for me. She claims death was by drowning, but also adds that she was wearing a T-shirt and necklace in the bathtub, which doesn’t make sense, why would she be in a bathtub with her clothes on? I’m still in ‘shock’ and I miss Aaron every day. I don’t understand the chain of events and this report only makes us ask more questions.
Melanie did not confirm if she will request a second autopsy or seek legal help to find a satisfactory response to the death of her son’s father.
As for the Carter family, neither Nick nor Angel, the singer’s brothers, have spoken about the final result of the autopsy.
