Two men, armed with a Teaser pistol and tear gas they robbed one jewelry store of the Dinh Van company in the center of Paris and then escaped on foot, according to police sources. Its booty may reach 2 million euros.
This is the second robbery in a few days in Paris, after the one at the Chaumet house near the Avenue des Champs Elysees. Jewelry robberies are not uncommon in the French capital, especially during the summer months.
Two police sources said the robbers were holding a teaser, a tear gas canister and a pistol. Dinh Van confirmed that its store in the Mare district had been targeted, but added that it was still too early to say what the value of the loot was.
“Sometimes we have a wave of such robberies,” admitted Ioan Moras, a member of the Alliance police union.
The robbery in Chaumet took place on Tuesday, by a man who escaped with an electric skate. Police arrested two suspects and recovered most of the stolen jewelery, worth about 2m euros.
