These are the five most polluted cities in the world

The organization Climate Trace, which was co-founded by the former vice president of the USA, Al Gore, highlighted the five most polluting cities in the world which are located in the United States and Asia. Topping the list is Shanghai, which emitted 256 million metric tons of greenhouse gases last year, surpassing even the emissions of entire nations such as Colombia and Norway. Other top cities include New York (160 million tons), Houston (150 million tons), Tokyo (250 million tons) and Seoul (142 million tons). Global emissions rise As the Daily Mail reports, Climate Trace’s analysis, based on satellite data, ground observations and artificial intelligence, revealed that global emissions of carbon dioxide and methane rose by 0.7% in 2023, reaching 61.2 billion metric tons.
