The world will be your home: man moves into an apartment on a cruise ship

The dream of every adult person is to live a stable and comfortable life, including housing and enjoying travel and comfort. Unfortunately, not everyone has the possibility to do it, since this requires money and long-term planning.

However, a young American did know how to do it, since he will minimize many expenses by moving to an apartment on a cruise ship, something that, according to him, is cheaper than buying a home. In addition, he will be able to travel at the same time, also saving those expenses. Definitely, he is living the dream of many.

This is Austin Wells, a 28-year-old employee of Meta, the augmented and virtual reality laboratory. His job is completely remote, so he has no problem constantly changing locations.

The cruise ship that will be your new home is the MV Narrative. A luxury residence ship that has many amenities, including 20 restaurants and bars, a gym, a 24-hour spa, three swimming pools, a school, a library, a bank, and offices. In addition, it has a theater to present plays and films.

As you can see, this is not an ordinary cruise, as it is focused on people who really want to live on board, unlike those who receive tourists for a short time.

The MV Narrative will dock in the cities for three to five days, allowing people to explore each city, then meet up on the ship and continue their journey. In an interview for the CNBC news channel, Austin said that she paid $300,000 for a 12-year stay.

The cruise has 11 types of rooms, depending on the budget, as there are some with a value of up to eight million dollars. Still, Austin said it was cheaper than renting an apartment in his hometown.

Although the ship is under construction in Croatia and will be ready to sail in 2025, Austin is excited by this opportunity and can’t wait to live that dream life.

What excites me the most is that I don’t have to break my daily routine to go see the world. This is probably the first time there has been the possibility of having a standard job and even considering working and living in a floating apartment complex.

Perhaps, at some point, you can consider moving to live on the water, which although it seems expensive, would probably be even worse if you decided to travel on your own.

Let’s just hope that everything goes well, although there is no doubt that it is a dream idea, since getting trips and a home at the same time is not an easy task.
