The UKO ilo unemployment rate remained stable at 4.4% in the three months until February, according to the data published by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) on Thursday. The market forecast was 4.4% in the reported period.
Additional details of the report showed that the number of people who claimed unemployment benefits increased by 18.7K in February, compared to a revised gain of 16.5K in January, exceeding the expected reading of 30.3K.
The employment change data for February was 205k compared to 144K in January.
Meanwhile, the average profits, excluding bonuses, in the United Kingdom increased 5.9% in three interannual months (3M year -on -year) in February compared to a revised growth of 5.8% previously recorded. The markets were waiting for a 6%result.
Another measure of salary inflation, average profits, including bonuses, advanced 5.6% in the same period after accelerating 5.6% reviewed in the quarter until February. The data exceeded the 5.7%estimate.
